What's in this article:
DMS is a web-based application and can be accessed through your internet browser.
You can login directly via https://app.redeyedms.com or RedEye Apps website https://redeye.co by clicking the Login button located on the top navigation menu and selecting DMS Login.
Logging in as a New User
If you have never registered for DMS, you will need to request access from the Administrator for your organisation. They will issue out an invite in the form of an email, with a link inviting you to register your full details and access the system. You must accept initial invitation in a computer web browser.
-
You will be directed to the Create a RedEye Account page
-
Complete the registration form (ensure you register with your correct work email)
Logging in as a Returning User:
If you have already been invited to DMS by your Bucket Administrator and have registered your account,
- Enter username (your organisation email address) and the password you created during registration in the respective fields and click on Sign in
- You will then be prompted to enter a 6-digit code from the authenticator app on your mobile device (that you set up during registration)
Logging in with Single Sign-On (SSO)
If your organisation uses Single Sign-On, as such you will only need your email address. Once you're all set up, you will then have access to the groups and artefacts that your link invitation indicated.
NOTE: Some clients use an enhanced SSO Protected Bucket login feature and may require you to login to a Tenant specific URL instead eg. https://transpower.redeyedms.com - contact your Bucket Administrator if you have issues logging into a Protected Bucket.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Overview
In order to ensure data integrity, RedEye has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to provide an additional layer of protection against unauthorised access to your account. This means that if you use a username and password to access DMS (and not SSO through your organisation), you will also need to enter a code to complete your login.
This guide will help you enrol your mobile device to gain access to RedEye where MFA protection has been enabled by the organisation you have access to.
One-Time PIN
The 6-digit code is called a time-based one-time password, referred to as One-Time PIN (OTP). The OTP is generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device and will be valid for a short time period (usually 30 seconds) before changing. You will need to time your code entry in the web browser with the countdown timer in the authenticator app.
How to set up multi-factor authentication
If your organisation has MFA enabled and you have a smartphone, you can set up an authenticator app for it. Download an MFA app to your mobile device. RedEye supports the following authenticator apps:
-
Authy
-
Google Authenticator
-
Guardian
-
Microsoft Authenticator
You can find all of these options in Google Play (Android devices) or the App Store (iOS devices).
Enrol in MFA.
For initial MFA enrolment, you will need to log in to RedEyeDMS using the web app https://app.redeyedms.com (you are NOT able to complete this initial step using the mobile app).
Logging in via the mobile app prior to configuring your MFA device will present the MFA One-Time PIN on your phone and you will not be able to proceed any further because you need to scan the QR code with your phone.
To enrol:
-
Ensure that your chosen authenticator app has access to your phone's camera
-
Navigate to https://app.redeyedms.com on your desktop computer
-
Log in with your username and password
-
In the next screen you will be presented with a QR code
-
Using the authenticator app on your mobile phone, add a new account, then scan the QR code.
-
Enter the 6-digit One-Time PIN (OTP) displayed on the authenticator app under the new account. Watch the countdown timer to make sure you have enough time to enter that code. If you don't, allow it the time to run out and then enter the new code that displays.
-
You will then be presented with a recovery code. Make you have this securely recorded somewhere, then check the box and click on the arrow icon to proceed.
Enrolment in multi-factor authentication is now complete.
Remember, you will need to enter a 6-digit password each time you log in to RedEyeDMS, so ensure you always have your mobile device nearby.
Troubleshooting
Single Sign-On Users
If you are from an organisation that uses Single Sign-On and you are unable to log in, you should contact your internal IT administrators.
Non-SSO Users
If you do not use Single-sign one and your password does not work, you can reset it by clicking on 'Don't remember your password?' link below the password field. You will then receive an email prompting you to select a new password, you can then log in with this new password.
RedEyeDMS keeps saying that the OTP is invalid
You may be experiencing time drift, where the time on your mobile device is off by 1-2 minutes. The code is no longer valid when you do to use it because the time on the authentication app's server is different to the time on your device.
Check that your mobile device is set to automatic time:
-
Android
This can differ across brands of Android device but will usually be under the Date & Time menu in Settings. -
iOS
Go to Settings > General
Go to Date & Time and then toggle on Set Automatically
Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
If you have a new phone and need to set up authentication again, please submit your email address and organisation name to support@redeye.co. This will open a request with the Product Support team who will be in touch once authentication has reset for your RedEyeDMS account.
When you're ready you can set up your authenticator app on your phone by following these steps:
-
Ensure you have an authenticator app (usually Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) installed on your phone, and check that you've allowed access to your phone's camera.
-
Log in to RedEyeDMS on your laptop/computer with your email and password.
-
When the browser screen presents a QR code, scan it with your phone using the authenticator app
-
This will set up a section in the authenticator called dmsprod.
Some authenticator apps (such as Microsoft Authenticator) allow you to back up your settings to the cloud – if you have an account with the authentication provider. This allows you to move authenticators between devices without requiring a reset.
