We at RedEyeDMS recognise that sometimes using our On Screen tool to mark up drawings just isn't practical; electronic devices may not be available or even allowed in your location for safety/explosive risk reasons. Or if you are just a master of pens and paper...here is how you get that work back into RedEye easily and accurately.
How to email your markups into RedEye:
To allow paper markups and yet maintain our accurate audit trail and transparency of actions in RedEyeDMS, a QR code with drawing workflow information embedded is placed on drawings printed within RedEye.
When markups are emailed into RedEye, the QR code is read automatically by our system to match the markup to the correct artefact in DMS.
Firstly, search for and print the drawing in RedEyeDMS – this will create a PDF file of your drawing complete with QR code and dedicated Redpen Email address details printed right on the page in red so you will never forget.
The email address can also be found at any time by clicking on Groups in the left-hand navigation menu. It is listed under the bucket name:
Or on the left of each printed PDF
Simply scan the marked up page and email to the dedicated Redpen Email address either direct from the scanner or by attaching the scanned PDF to an email with the Redpen Markup address as the addressee – you CAN attach multiple markups per email. Once received, RedEyeDMS scans the QR code and automatically attaches the markup to its corresponding artefact.
NB. The Redpen Markup email queue is scanned every 15 minutes for new entries so emailed markups may take up to 20 minutes to appear in RedEyeDMS.
If markups don't appear against your drawing after 30 minutes have your Bucket Administrator check the Unassigned Queue in case there was a problem during the process.
The markup can be manually linked to the correct drawing from the Unassigned Queue by the Bucket Administrator
